2018 WORKSHOP #3: 9/21-22-23/2018

350.00

In this exciting class, you’ll learn how to paint a self portrait in oil using age-old and modern techniques from a reference photo of yourself. With only 5 slots available, you can expect lots of hands-on instruction and tips and tricks along the way. We’ll jump right in on the first day with a photoshoot of each of you and briefly discuss photoshop and printing out a color reference. We’ll then apply the drawing onto the toned canvas by either tracing or projection and ink-in the lines. After a brief review of color and mixing skin tones we’ll block-in the first thin layer of color then paint the portrait with subsequent thicker layers and finalize the subtle details. Students can expect to walk away from this class with a basic knowledge needed to paint a portrait from a photo to achieve likeness, skin-tones, and detail.
